Review: This is the initial CD for Lulee Fisher
and quite possibly the breakthrough needed for this engaging,
sweetly sophisticated vocalist. The undercurrent of sensuality
is ever present in her coruscating style.
Fisher's rendition of "I Thought about
You" features a breathtaking treatment of the lyrics,
with just enough hipness to make one realize that this is
a special artist. The song works beautifully.
"Let's Eat Home" showcases the opposite
side of Lulee Fisher. Dave Frishberg will be pleased with
this happy interpretation. Bright and swinging is the byword.
Lulee Fisher's voice has a sweet quality,
yet there is an underlying strength and beauty that is captured
nicely in this recording.
The personnel on this disc are the finest
Los Angeles has to offer. These musicians were the perfect
choices for Lulee Fisher's lovely first outing. I look forward
to the next project by this talented performer.
